The Brief

Located in the heart of London’s West End, The Met Building required a bold and refined interior scheme that reflected the scale and prominence of the development.

The brief called for a series of bespoke architectural joinery elements to define the building’s key arrival and social spaces. These features needed to combine strong visual presence with warmth, durability, and precise detailing, creating a cohesive experience from reception through to the roof terrace.

Each intervention had to balance contemporary design with robust materials, ensuring long-term performance in high-traffic commercial environments.

The completed scheme delivers a confident, contemporary interior that enhances both the arrival sequence and the building’s social spaces.

The full-height staircase spine wall creates a strong architectural focal point, with integrated lighting and handrails guiding movement through the building.In reception, leather bench seating set within precisely detailed Corian niches introduces warmth and comfort, while the oak-panelled feature wall and bespoke desks establish a refined, welcoming atmosphere. On the roof terrace, the tailored bar servery provides a durable and elegant focal point for social use.

Together, these elements create a cohesive environment that balances architectural presence with material richness, an understated yet striking expression of craftsmanship in the centre of London.
