The Brief

Located within a private residence dating from circa 1896, the Fairwinds project required the creation of a bespoke wine storage space that respected the home’s period character while providing the performance of a modern, temperature-controlled system.

The brief called for a refined, purpose-built joinery solution that would integrate seamlessly with the surrounding interiors, using high-quality natural materials and precise detailing.

The scheme needed to balance traditional craftsmanship with contemporary functionality, ensuring the space offered both visual warmth and reliable environmental control for the wine collection.

The Result

The completed wine store delivers a refined and atmospheric space that complements the character of the historic residence while meeting the practical demands of a modern collection.

The rich tone and natural depth of the walnut joinery create warmth and continuity with the surrounding interiors, while precise grain alignment and structured shelving introduce rhythm and order to the space. Carefully controlled off-site finishing and climate-regulated installation ensured both aesthetic consistency and long-term performance.

The result is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional wine cellar, defined by craftsmanship, precision, and restraint, and designed to serve both the home and its heritage.
